Woodside "Summer Letter from Principal" & Important Upcoming Events

Posted Date: 7/15/25 (7:36 PM)

Good afternoon, Woodside Middle School Families,

I hope you all have been enjoying your summer! It’s amazing that we are just a few short weeks away from the first day of school on Wednesday, August 6th. The Clark family has spent the summer traveling to the lake, soccer practices/games, lots of camps for the kids, and time with family and friends. Summer always seems to fly by, but we’re looking forward to kicking off the start of the school year and getting back into the routines. I am blessed to be able to come to Woodside each and every day and serve our community. I can’t wait to welcome back students and staff for another great year at Woodside.

Before the 2025-2026 school year gets underway, I wanted to reach out with some important upcoming dates and events happening at Woodside. Please be sure to note the dates and links at the bottom of this letter.

This coming school year we will be celebrating 50 years of Woodside Middle School (1976-2026)! Our shared theme for our students and staff will be “Your Journey. Your Choices. Our Legacy.” This year’s overarching theme for our students and staff will center on personal growth and individual journeys—the decisions we make, how those choices shape our paths, and how each unique journey contributes to the lasting culture and shared values of Woodside. Middle school is the starting point for independence, self-discovery, and responsibility. We believe that our staff and students are fellow travelers in this journey. Together, our shared work builds a legacy of excellence and belonging that has defined WMS for half of a century. The 50th year of Woodside is a time to reflect, celebrate, and recommit to the values and high expectations we hope live on and endure for another 50 years!

In the coming weeks, please watch for important details about Woodside’s In-Person Registration Day on July 30, Back to School Night on August 5, and the first day of school on August 6. These updates will be shared through our districtwide communication platform, Parent Square. Be sure to read all newsletters and communications carefully to stay informed and prepared for the new school year.

Please note that student schedules are still being finalized as we work to balance classes. Students will receive their finalized schedules at registration on July 30. Any schedules currently visible in PowerSchool may change before then.

We look forward to seeing everyone soon, and if you have any questions, please do not hesitate to reach out to the school office directly at 260-431-2701.

“Your Journey. Your Choices. Our Legacy,”

    Dr. Stephen Clark

    WMS Principal
