Following a detailed analysis of growth and community dialogues at Covington Elementary School (CES) and Woodside Middle School (WMS), the SACS School Board of Trustees approved the redistricting of ZONE 1 for the 2019-2020 school year.

The new boundaries will move ZONE 1 students and families at CES and WMS to Lafayette Meadows Elementary (LMES) and Summit Middle School (SMS).

• Elementary students in ZONE 1 will attend LMES at the start of the 2019-2020 school year with the exception of this year’s fourth graders who have the option to remain at CES next school year if parents provide transportation.

   

• This year’s CES fifth graders in ZONE 1 will attend SMS.

   

• Current WMS sixth and seventh graders in ZONE 1 can choose to finish their middle school careers at Woodside if parents are willing to provide transportation.

The option to remain at their current school does not extend to the student’s siblings.

Both LMES and SMS are excited to welcome girls and boys moving buildings and are busy planning several events for students and families to get acquainted with the new school, students and staff.  All families in ZONE 1 can expect to be contacted soon after Winter Break.
