Homestead’s Latin Club is part of a larger organization, the Junior Classical League. JCL is one of the largest academic organizations in the world. It offers students a chance to be enthusiastic about the ancient world and so much more.

Opportunities for Latin Club Members:

Local Events

Local chapter events vary from educational club meetings to parties to service projects.

State Events

Many state events are held throughout the year, including a Leadership Development Academy, Fall Latin Day, and State Convention.

Leadership

Homestead students have the opportunity to hold local and state leadership roles.

Academic Recognition

JCL members who receive an “A” in their Latin course and exemplify good citizenship can become members of the NJCL Latin Honor Society. 

Competition

Students can participate in many contests at state convention from academic tests to graphic and creative arts. Students can also participate in Certamen (Latin Quiz Bowl) at two invitationals.

Travel

Homestead will be traveling with an Indiana JCL group to Italy in June 2017. Stay tuned for more details.
