Summer Training

Combined Summit/Woodside runs will be held several times a week over the summer. In addition, Coach Gaff has put together a running program for athletes to follow as they prep for the upcoming season.

Basic Info

Cross Country is open to all 6th, 7th and 8th Graders at Woodside (One of the few sports 6th graders can participate in.)

The season runs from August to Mid October

We have 11 meets this season

1 Tuesday Meets

4 Wednesday Meets

5 Saturday Meets

1 Thursday Meet

IMPORTANT: Not all kids compete in all meets.

First Day of Practice is August 13th.

All participants must have a Physical Form completed BEFORE they can participate in the first practice.  If they don’t have a form on file or turned in at the first practice they will have to go home.

Practice is every school day. MTWF from 4:30 to 6 at Woodside, Thursday from 5:30-7:00 at Van Hoozen Park.

MTWF Students should go home after school and return to Woodside Door 14. 

Thursdays meet at Van Hoozen Park on Aboite Center Rd.

Pickup students at Door 14 after Woodside practices.

During practice we will run from 2 to 5 miles depending on ability level with the goal of all participants being able to run 2 miles without walking by the end of the season.

Races are a 3K or 1.86 miles.

Parent meeting TBA where more detailed information will be given.
